XnView MP is an image viewer, photo organiser and batch converter from XnSoft. It reads more than 500 image formats, including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, PSD, camera raw, HEIC/HEIF, AVIF, JPEG XL and OpenEXR, and can export to about 70. Besides viewing (thumbnails, full screen, filmstrip, slideshow and a compare view for up to four images) it offers resizing, lossless JPEG rotation and crop, colour adjustments, a powerful batch converter, batch renaming, IPTC and XMP metadata editing and a duplicate file finder.
It suits anyone who wants a fast viewer that can also organise and bulk-process large folders of images. “MP” is the modern, multi-platform version; XnView Classic is the older Windows-only program, now labelled legacy.
How to get the official version
The XnView MP download page offered version 1.11.7 as:
- Windows 7/8/10/11: a 64-bit setup or zip. A 32-bit build is only available for the old version 1.5.5.
- macOS: a universal 64-bit DMG. The download page says macOS 10.13+, while the comparison table on the XnView home page lists macOS 11.3+.
- Linux: DEB package, TGZ archive, AppImage, and a TGZ for ARM 64-bit.
SHA-256 checksums for all files are linked from the same page. On Windows, winget install XnSoft.XnViewMP installs the same version from XnSoft’s server.
Price and licence
XnView MP is freeware, with no adware or spyware, for private use, public entities and educational use, including non-profit organisations. If you use it in a company you must buy a licence. The listed price is 29.00 euros per licence for one seat, falling with volume (for example 19.00 euros each for 20 to 49 licences). Donations from private users are welcome but optional.
