How the weekly giveaway works
Each free game runs for a fixed window. In Epic’s current promotions data, windows open and close on Thursdays at 15:00 UTC, which is 11:00 a.m. Eastern time in the summer and 10:00 a.m. in the winter. The “Free until” and “Free from” times above come straight from that data.
- Open the game’s page on store.epicgames.com using the link above.
- Sign in to your Epic Games account, or create one on Epic’s site.
- Select Get and finish the checkout. The total should be 0.00. If you are asked for payment for the base game, the giveaway has ended or you are on the wrong page.
- Install the game through the Epic Games Launcher when you want to play. You do not have to install it during the giveaway.
How to avoid free-game scams
- Claim games only on store.epicgames.com or in the official Epic Games Launcher. Sites that promise the same game as a download link, a “key generator” or a free currency code are not Epic.
- Epic never asks you to share your password or a login code with anyone to receive a free game.

Do I need to buy anything to claim a free game?
No. During the giveaway window the base game costs 0.00 on Epic’s store. Some games sell optional extras separately.
What if I miss the window?
After the window closes the game returns to its usual price, shown on each card above. The next giveaway is listed under “Coming next” when Epic has announced it.
Why does the list say “Mystery Game”?
Epic sometimes hides the title of an upcoming giveaway until it starts. The card updates on its own once Epic reveals it.
Are the dates the same in every country?
The times are global, but prices and availability are read from the US store. A small number of games can be unavailable in some regions.
