RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS) is a free Windows utility from the Guru3D RivaTuner team, developed by Unwinder. It provides frame rate and frametime monitoring, the on-screen display used by MSI Afterburner, a frame limiter, and screen and video capture for DirectX, OpenGL and Vulkan games. Version 7.3.7 was posted on Guru3D on September 30, 2025.
When to use RTSS
- You want an in-game overlay with FPS and hardware stats, usually together with MSI Afterburner.
- You want a frame limiter that works across games.

When not to use it
- In games whose anti-cheat blocks overlays. Guru3D says some online games’ anti-cheat “may restrict On-Screen Display usage and block connection to the server” while RTSS runs.
- From any site other than Guru3D or MSI. Guru3D says “Many spoof domains host RTSS making you vulnerable towards malware.”
