AIMP is a free audio player developed by Artem Izmaylov. The Windows version plays local files, podcasts and music on cloud and network storage, and includes a set of tools for working with audio files. There is also an Android app and a Linux build. The current stable Windows release is AIMP 5.40.2727, dated September 8, 2026.
Who it suits
Windows and Android users who want a traditional music player for their own files. It is not a streaming service.
Get the official version
- Windows: aimp.ru download centre: 32-bit (17.7 MB) and 64-bit (21.0 MB) installers for 5.40.2727.
- Android: Google Play, or the APK on aimp.ru. The Android page publishes a SHA-256 hash for each APK so you can check the file. AIMP for Android was at 4.31.1747 (September 10, 2026).
- Linux: aimp.ru Linux page, with .deb and .rpm packages.
The site is primarily in Russian. The download pages also link to other Android stores and a forum thread. We list only AIMP’s own files and Google Play.
AIMP 6 beta
AIMP 6.00 is in beta (Beta 6 on September 25, 2026). It adds an ARM build for Windows 11 on ARM and a native Linux version. The stable Linux release, 5.40, runs through Wine instead. If you use the Wine version, AIMP says to remove it before installing the native one.
Price
AIMP’s licence agreement describes the program as freeware distributed “as is”. Google Play shows “In-app purchases” on the Android listing.

Why is the winget version older?
winget install AIMP.AIMP works, but the winget manifest may lag behind aimp.ru. For the newest release, download from the official site.
What is the “Unlimited (no-saf)” Android build?
AIMP offers it for systems without the app that grants extended file-access permission; use it if you see an “activity not found” error.
