Rocket League is a free-to-play game from Psyonix that mixes arcade-style soccer with rocket-powered cars. Teams of one, two or three players try to knock an oversized ball into the other team’s goal. Extra modes include Rumble, Snow Day and Hoops. On PC, the Epic Games Store lists it as free, with in-app purchases.

How to get the official version
On PC, install the free Epic Games Launcher and add Rocket League on the Epic Games Store. You need an Epic account. The Epic page lists Windows as the platform.
Rocket League still has a page on Steam, but Steam states that it is unlisted at the publisher’s request, and the page did not offer it to new players when we checked. People who already own it on Steam can keep playing there. There is no Mac or Linux version. The mobile game Rocket League Sideswipe is a different game.
Cost and purchases
The game is free to play. The Epic page says it includes in-app purchases, such as the Rocket Pass, Item Shop cosmetics and credits. When we checked, the store listed credit packs and seasonal packs, for example 1,100 credits for US$9.99. Items are cosmetic; the Epic page also describes weekly and seasonal challenges that unlock items for free.
Requirements
Epic lists these minimums: Windows 7 (64-bit) or newer, a 2.5 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of memory, an NVIDIA GeForce 760 or AMD Radeon R7 270X, DirectX 11 and 20 GB of storage. The recommended specification is a 3.0 GHz quad-core processor, 8 GB of memory and a GeForce GTX 1060 or Radeon RX 470. The Epic Games Launcher itself needs Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11.
Safety notes
“Free credits” and item-generator sites are scams that target Epic accounts. Turn on two-factor authentication for your Epic account and only buy credits inside the game or store.

Is Rocket League still free to play?
Yes. On 26 September 2026 the Epic Games Store listed the base game as free, with in-app purchases.
Can I get it on Steam?
Not as a new player. Steam says the game is unlisted at the publisher’s request, and the page did not offer it when we checked. Existing Steam owners can still play.
Is Rocket League Sideswipe the same game?
No. Sideswipe is a separate mobile game from Psyonix.
