UVtools is a free, open-source tool for resin (MSLA/DLP) 3D printing, developed by Tiago Conceição (sn4k3) under the AGPL-3.0 license. It opens files that a slicer has already produced, such as CTB, GOO, PRZ, SL1 and Photon Workshop formats, and lets you inspect and change them. Version 7.0.0 was released on September 19, 2026, adding a GPU-accelerated 3D layer preview and native Linux packages.
When to use UVtools
- A resin print failed and you want to find islands or other problems in the sliced file.
- You need to change settings in a sliced file, such as wait times or the bottom layer count, without slicing again.
- You want to convert a sliced file to another printer format, or run calibration tests.
When not to use it
- As your slicer. UVtools works on sliced files. You still need a slicer such as CHITUBOX Basic or Lychee Slicer.
- For filament printers. It is built for resin printer files.
