Short answer: Creality offers older versions of Creality Print in two official places. Its Download Center at creality.com/pages/download-software has an “Older Versions” list for Windows and macOS that goes back to V6.1.0 (March 2025). The full history, including Creality Print 5.x, 4.x and every Linux build, is on GitHub at github.com/CrealityOfficial/CrealityPrint/releases. The current version on Creality’s site is V7.2.2.5483, dated September 6, 2026. Avoid third-party “old version” mirrors: you can’t prove their files are Creality’s, and releases older than 6.2.0 have no GitHub hash to check against.

The two sources point to the same files for recent versions. When we checked on September 26, 2026, the download links in Creality’s “Older Versions” list for V6.1.0 and later went to github.com/CrealityOfficial/CrealityPrint/releases/download/.... Creality hosts the installers on GitHub and links them from its own site.
For Linux, Creality’s download page shows “Only supported on Windows and Mac” on the Linux tab, and its entry for Linux reads “Get latest versions and Linux version on GitHub.” So Linux builds, old and new, come only from the GitHub releases page.
Why people need an older Creality Print
These are the usual reasons, each tied to something in Creality’s own release notes:
- Printer and firmware changes. Slicer releases change how Creality Print talks to printers. The V6.3.1 notes list “Firmware interface upgrades for K2 series printer” and support for CFS-C. If your printer’s firmware is older or newer than what a slicer version expects, an earlier or later slicer may behave better.
- Printer support was added over time. Creality Print 4.3.8, for example, added the Ender-3 V3, K1C, CR-1000S and GS-01, plus several Ender and CR models for Nebula and Sonic screens. If you are matching an older setup, the version history shows when a model arrived.
- A new version broke something you rely on. Every release fixes bugs, which also shows that bugs ship. Version 7.2.1 alone fixed several crashes, a Linux preset-editing problem and a black-screen issue on certain GPUs.
- Interface changes. Version 5.0 introduced “a fully revamped UI system.” Version 6.0 moved to “a brand-new software framework.” Version 7.0 added AI-based support detection. Some people keep an older version while they learn a new layout.
- Linux packaging changed. Version 6.3.1 had separate AppImages for Ubuntu 20.04 and 24.04. From 7.x, Creality ships one x86_64 AppImage and a Flatpak file.

How to verify an older Creality Print file
GitHub started showing SHA-256 digests for release files in June 2025. Every Creality Print release from 6.2.0 (June 30, 2025) onward has one. Releases 6.1.2 and older have none. We didn’t find separate checksums on Creality’s download page.

To check a file, run Get-FileHash in PowerShell on Windows, shasum -a 256 on macOS or sha256sum on Linux, and compare the result with the digest GitHub shows beside the file. For 6.1.x, 6.0.x, 5.x and 4.x files, the only check you have is the source: download them directly from the CrealityOfficial GitHub repository and nowhere else.
The risk with third-party “old version” sites
Download portals that keep old installers are tempting because they list every version on one page. The problem is that you can’t confirm their files are Creality’s:
- For 6.2 and newer, you can compare the hash with GitHub’s digest. If a mirror’s file doesn’t match, it isn’t Creality’s file.
- For 6.1.2 and older, there is no published hash. A mirror’s copy can’t be checked at all, so there’s no reason to prefer it over GitHub, which has the originals.
- A repackaged installer can bundle extra software or malware. Our guide to fake download sites explains how these pages usually look.
We haven’t found a lookalike Creality Print domain named by Creality itself, so we don’t list any here. The rule is simple: creality.com or github.com/CrealityOfficial, nothing else.
Before you downgrade
- Export your settings. The 5.0 release notes say “all parameters can be saved and exported for sharing.” Export your printer, filament and process presets before you change versions.
- Keep the version you’re leaving. Note its exact build number so you can return to it.
- Check the printer’s firmware notes. If you’re downgrading because of a firmware mismatch, read the release notes for both the slicer and the firmware.
- Stay on a release, not a pre-release. GitHub marks 7.3.0 and 4.3.9 as pre-releases.

Why does the 7.2.2 file sit under the v7.2.1 release on GitHub?
That’s how Creality uploaded it. The 7.2.2 installers are attached to the v7.2.1 release, and creality.com links to them there.
Are old Creality Print versions safe to use?
The files on GitHub are Creality’s own. Older versions lack later bug fixes, so use one only when you have a reason.
Can I verify a Creality Print 5.1.7 download?
Not with a hash. GitHub shows no digest for Creality Print 6.1.2 or anything older. Download it from the official repository.
Is Creality Print free?
Yes. It’s free to download, and GitHub lists its license as AGPL-3.0.
Will downgrading delete my presets?
We can’t confirm how each version handles existing profiles. Export your presets first so you can import them if needed.
