OrcaSlicer Official Download: Real Sources, Fake Sites, SHA-256

Short answer: OrcaSlicer’s official sources are its GitHub repository, github.com/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer, and its website, www.orcaslicer.com. The project also publishes it on the Microsoft Store, Flathub, winget and a Homebrew cask. The project’s README warns that orca-slicer[.]com and orcaslicer[.]net are “clickbait and malicious websites” pretending to be official. The current stable release is v2.4.2, published July 7, 2026, and was still the latest on September 26, 2026. Every release file has a SHA-256 hash on GitHub. Compare it with your download before you install.

OrcaSlicer’s official download sources

We checked each of these against the project’s own README and website. The README says: “Our only official website is www.orcaslicer.com.” The site’s FAQ adds cloud.orcaslicer.com, its OrcaCloud service, as the second official domain.

The website’s download page puts it plainly: official builds come from GitHub releases, the Microsoft Store and Flathub, “nowhere else.” Its FAQ says: “Do not download installers from third-party websites.”

Fake OrcaSlicer sites the project names

The caution box at the top of OrcaSlicer’s README names two domains. It says several “clickbait and malicious websites, such as orca-slicer[.]com and orcaslicer[.]net,” pretend to be the official site and “may redirect you to dangerous downloads or contain misleading information.”

The README asks users who see these in search results to report them to Google Safe Browsing, Microsoft Security Intelligence and IPThreat. We list only these two because they are the ones the project has named. Any other domain not listed above is unofficial, whether or not anyone has flagged it. Current release: OrcaSlicer v2.4.2

GitHub’s releases API lists v2.4.2 “Official Release” as the latest stable version, published July 7, 2026. It follows v2.4.1 (June 28) and v2.4.0 (June 20). The project describes 2.4.2 as a maintenance update focused on profiles, cloud sync and printer connectivity. It fixes presets that pointed at renamed or removed profiles, several crashes, and Bambu network plugin installation on Windows.

The hashes below are GitHub’s SHA-256 digests for the main files. We downloaded the Windows x64 installer on September 26, 2026, and its hash matched.

The release also includes an ARM64 portable ZIP, two Flatpak files and a file named Debug_PDB_V2.4.2_for_developers_only.7z. You don’t need that last one. As its name says, it is for developers.

How to verify your download

1. Check the address. The file should come from github.com/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer/releases, directly or through the download buttons on www.orcaslicer.com. The project’s download page tells you to always verify that you are downloading from github.com/OrcaSlicer/OrcaSlicer.
2. Compute the hash.
   • Windows (PowerShell): Get-FileHash .\OrcaSlicer_Windows_Installer_V2.4.2_x64.exe
   • macOS: shasum -a 256 OrcaSlicer_Mac_universal_V2.4.2.dmg
   • Linux: sha256sum OrcaSlicer_Linux_AppImage_Ubuntu2404_V2.4.2.AppImage
3. Compare the result with the table above or with the digest GitHub shows next to the file on the release page. One different character means a different file.

Don’t use a digital signature as your check on Windows. The x64 installer we downloaded is not Authenticode-signed, so Windows may show an “unknown publisher” warning for the genuine file. The hash is the check that works. If you want a signed package, the README points Windows users to the Microsoft Store build.

Which file should you download?

• Most Windows PCs: the x64 installer, or the Microsoft Store version, which the project recommends and which updates itself.
• Windows on ARM (Snapdragon laptops): the ARM64 installer. The README says to pick the one matching your CPU.
• No admin rights, or a USB stick: the portable ZIP.
• Mac: the universal DMG, which runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.
• Linux: Flathub, which the project recommends and which updates itself, or the AppImage for your CPU.

If the Windows build won’t start, the README lists two runtimes to install: Microsoft Edge WebView2 and the Visual C++ 2019 x64 redistributable. It links Microsoft-hosted downloads for both.

Nightly and belt-printer builds

The project also publishes nightly builds on a separate “nightly-builds” release. The website warns they “may be unstable.” The nightly release also carries experimental belt-printer builds, marked with a _belt suffix, for belt or conveyor printers. The README says belt support is under active development and not yet merged into the main code. For normal printing, use v2.4.2.

If you downloaded OrcaSlicer from another site

• Compare the file’s hash with the official one. If it doesn’t match, don’t run it.
• If you already ran an unverified installer, uninstall it, run a full scan with reputable security software, and reinstall from an official source.
• Report the site through Google Safe Browsing and Microsoft’s unsafe-site form, as the OrcaSlicer README suggests.
